I am currently based in Singapore. I have interests in history, science and technology studies, and education, and I am looking to pursue a career at the intersection of all three fields.

Education

Starting in Dec 2022, I am working towards my teaching qualification (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) at the National Institute of Education, Singapore. I will be trained in teaching history and social studies at the secondary level.

I earned a master’s degree in Southeast Asian studies from the National University of Singapore. Before that, I graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in history and computer science. I wrote a blog post explaining why I chose to major in two very different subjects.

Personal

Running: I am an avid distance runner, and I look forward to completing a marathon in the near future. In 2020, I was slated to run the Boston Marathon and raise funds for nutrition research as part of the Tufts Marathon Team, but alas, the pandemic.

Hiking: I enjoy spending time outdoors. My adventures have brought me to places like Gunung Merapi (Indonesia), Torres del Paine (Patagonia, Chile), Mt. Mansfield (Vt., USA), and the French Alps.

Coffee: Making a good cup of coffee is one of my daily rituals. I prefer a light roast, and I rotate between using the French press, Hario V60, and AeroPress at home. My current favourite recipe is James Hoffmann’s iced filter coffee. When outside, I am partial to a kopi O kosong peng.

Send me your suggestions for races, trails, or coffees to try.
